Educators recognize that children are highly motivated by special people they trust and admire.   Our productions take advantage of children's natural attraction to Firefighters and Circus Performers and feature fresh new ways to make eating nutritious foods desirable.  

In Lesson 1 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is coming to town.   Join in as Firefighter George takes the Start Smarter students through a supermarket teaching the children where each performer's healthy treats can be found.   The new food pyramid is reviewed as well as the importance of eating a wide variety of different colored foods.

In lesson 2, Firefighter George and Principle Melvin teach train travel and safety.   Come along with the Start Smarter students as we buy tickets for our train ride, travel through long tunnels, tour the Dining and Sleeping Cars, and explore how Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey transports its animals and performers.   Throughout this production, Firefighter George carefully teaches the top ten lessons on train safety.

Along with this production, students build key Math and Reading skills with our comprehensive, classroom-tested activities.   All Start Smarter lesson plans are organized in Math and English according to the NCTM and NCTE teaching standards and employ a variety of activities to reach the multiple intelligences of all learners in the classroom.
